Winery
Tenuta San Guido is the estate behind Sassicaia, located in Bolgheri (Tuscany). Its prestige is such that Sassicaia has its own appellation: Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC, granted in 1994 — making it one of the few wines with a dedicated DOC.
The estate’s vineyards are planted on stony, gravelly soils reminiscent of Bordeaux, with an ideal orientation to capture both maritime and solar influence. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc results in wines with structure, refined aromatic nuance, and remarkable ageing capacity.
Recommended for
Ideal with premium red meats, suckling pig, refined roasts, truffle dishes, poultry with rich sauces, or aged gourmet cheeses. Sassicaia 2022 is a wine with great cellaring potential — it is recommended to wait 8–12 years or more to enjoy its fullest expression.
