Weinhaus Barzen

Fundada en ~1525

Weinhaus Barzen is a family-run winery located in Reil, in the heart of Germany’s Mosel Valley. The estate focuses primarily on Riesling from steep slate slopes, vinified in stainless steel and partially in oak to enhance texture and finesse. The range includes dry, feinherb and late harvest styles, as well as traditional-method sparkling wines.

History

The Barzen family has been growing grapes and making wine in Reil for around 500 years. The current project is led by Alexander Barzen, who maintains historic vineyards — including one planted in 1886 — and blends tradition with technical precision. The estate has received international acclaim for its Rieslings, ranging from dry old-vine bottlings to botrytised selections such as Beerenauslese.
