Bodega Remírez de Ganuza, located in Samaniego, Álava, is widely recognised for its innovative approach to winemaking in Rioja. With 80 hectares of estate-owned vineyards distributed across more than 200 carefully selected plots, the winery employs cutting-edge techniques such as meticulous grape selection and the use of new French oak barrels for ageing. Its modern style and unwavering commitment to quality have positioned it as one of the leading wineries in the region.
History
Founded in 1989 by Fernando Remírez de Ganuza, the bodega was born from a clear vision: to produce high-quality wines through minimal intervention in the winemaking process. In 2010, the Urtasun family acquired a 50% stake in the winery, taking full ownership in 2019. Today, José Ramón Urtasun leads the project, preserving the legacy of innovation and excellence established by its founder.
