Pago de Vallegarcía

Fundada en 1997

Pago de Vallegarcía is a winery located in Retuerta del Bullaque, in the heart of the Montes de Toledo. Situated at an altitude of 850 metres, its 31 hectares of vineyards grow on acidic, deep soils, ideal for Bordeaux and Rhône varieties. The winery produces around 200,000 bottles annually, with an aim to reach 300,000, standing out for its commitment to quality and sustainability.

History

The story of Pago de Vallegarcía began in 1997, when Alfonso Cortina de Alcocer decided to plant a vineyard on the Vallegarcía estate, under the guidance of Australian viticulture expert Dr Richard Smart. The first vines were planted in 1999, and the first vintage was harvested in 2001. In 2006, the winery was inaugurated, and in 2019, the estate was granted Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) status, cementing its prestige in the wine world.
