Bethon, Côte de Sézanne (Champagne)
Champagne Gruet Sas
Fundada en 1952
Champagne Gruet SAS is a family-run maison located in Bethon, in the Côte de Sézanne, dedicated to producing sparkling wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The estate works with cool-climate vineyards on limestone soils, employing manual harvesting and gentle vertical pressing. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by extended ageing on lees, with restrained dosage and the inclusion of reserve wines—all in pursuit of aromatic purity, a fine mousse, mineral tension, and gastronomic elegance.
History
Founded in 1952 by the Gruet family, the house initially grew by crafting both its own cuvées and wines for third parties in southern Champagne. In 1984, it inspired the creation of the namesake project in New Mexico, while the Bethon maison remained independent, preserving its distinct identity. Today, Champagne Gruet SAS blends tradition with technical precision, prioritising sustainable viticulture and exporting a range of wines renowned for their balance, consistency, and outstanding value for money.
