Bodegas Borsao, located in Borja, Zaragoza, is one of the leading wineries in the Campo de Borja Denomination of Origin, in Aragón. With vineyard holdings representing approximately 36% of the denomination, the winery specialises in producing wines made from Garnacha, the region’s native grape variety. Its focus on quality and sustainability is reflected in its modern facilities and commitment to responsible winemaking practices.

History

The history of Bodegas Borsao began in 1958 with the founding of the Borja Cooperative. In 2001, the cooperative merged with two others in the region, giving rise to Bodegas Borsao S.A. This union enabled the modernisation of facilities and established the winery as a leader in Garnacha wine production, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally.

Awards / Recognitions

  • Double Gold Medal at the 2024 Garnachas del Mundo competition for the wines Borsao Bolé 2020, Borsao Cabriola 2019, Borsao Berola 2019, and Borsao Tres Picos 2021.
  • Gold Medal at the same competition for Borsao Selección Rosado 2023.
  • Silver Medal at the same competition for Borsao Selección Tinto 2023.
